it's possible, but its a complicated process to restore a backup and tricky to have two copies of the same database open at once. Moreover, the backup file must dated prior to the closed period event.

Yes it is prior to the closing of last year. I am being audited and I know some general ledger accounts unfortunately. Lesson learned....it didn't tell me that I couldn't see the detailed general ledgers anymore. I knew to print a balance sheet and an income statement.
How do we do this as I have about 11 accounts I need to get details for. My backup is March of 2011.... And I know I didn't close until Sept or so.

We can set an appointment for tomorrow AM at 9:15 EST. I will need to remote in on the pc that hosts the SQL database. Is the backup file located on the server pc with the database?

I will send the remote session iinfo in the morning just prior to the appointment.
