Hi. Our commission check was shorted by a referral fee of $1625 pd to another company. They paid it directly to the company off the HUD. What is the best way to work this so the referral is shown but also does not affect our bank account so it shows that we got the $6500 but we really only got $4875. Thanks

Hi. I know how to do an outside referral fee from commissions. In this instance however they DEDUCTED THE REFERRAL FEE FROM WHAT WE SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED and now I am trying to show that there was a referral fee involved with this transaction and still come up with the amount we actually received. Please help what you can. Thanks

When you apply the Referral Fee deduction in the Comm Tree Tab of the property, you will need to change the Credit G/L account to a G/L that is not the Cash Account. In this case, you would want to use the same G/L account for the Credit as you have assigned for the Debit. Using the same G/L account for both entries has a neutral impact in the G/L. You would also need to change the Vendor record to None. This allows you to show the deduction on the deal, but you aren't actually paying it from the deduction entry.
